“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
Statistics show that stress is a major factor in 5 out of the 6 leading causes of death — heart disease, cancer, strokes, lower respiratory disease, and accidents. If that doesn’t shock you enough, then another statistic that will is that an estimated 75 per cent to 90 per cent of all doctor visits are for stress-related issues.
What’s worse is that these statistics are from earlier than 2020 — which is actually when people’s stress levels began to escalate even more. This is a clear indicator that we need to learn to manage stress and deal with anxiety.
Somewhere along the way, we all have faced a major problem that placed great stress on us. But why is it that some fall apart under stress and others don’t? The different effect that stress has on each one of us boils down to one thing — perception! We all manage stress in our own unique way, but it is our perception and ability to manage the stress that makes the difference.
It’s time that you begin to recognise a problem as a stepping stone to get you where you need to be. Stress will be completely removed from your life if you understand what God has mapped out for you. When you are secure in your future and your calling, all of a sudden, your present circumstances will no longer be able to derail you.
As you cast your stress upon Jesus, may the peace which surpasses all understanding become an anchor to your soul.
The problem that I am facing now is just a stepping stone to where God is taking me. I will not allow stress to steal my peace or my joy! I know that my future is divinely orchestrated by God, and I put my trust in Him. God is making a way! Amen.
