Today, we will get into a very specific type of anointing that will give you access to certain privileges – this anointing is an anointing that will preserve you and everything that belongs to you.
Many times you have heard us speak on “seasons and times” - You must remember that many seasons that you go through are sent by God himself to mold you, and to shape you to be used for his glory.
You will need this anointing that we will get into now, in order to be preserved through these seasons and times.
This anointing is available for every believer that will keep you safe in every circumstance, even when everything around you is falling apart. This anointing will cause you not to be touched by anything nor anything that belongs to you.
This anointing is known as the GOSHEN ANOINTING
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:
5 But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.
Genesis 45:5 (NKJV)
Here you will see that Joseph that is already in Egypt, as he was sold by his brothers into slavery and so after years, through a meeting that was divinely set up by God himself.
Joseph is finally reunited with his brothers but, the way that he responded to his brothers is something that is worth taking note off.
He tells them not to be angry at themselves because they sold him, as it was God that sent him before them to preserve life.
The phrase to preserve life means :
- Hebrew word : michyâh
- And it means to replenish life or to revive, to bring back to life. Preserving life also speaks of sustenance.
When you study this phrase in ancient Hebrew it refers to :
- Stomach
- Meaning that when the stomach is empty you are famished and weak but when it is filled, then you are revived. This organ is seen as the life: as an empty stomach is like death but a revived stomach is life.
This holds great spiritual significance on the preparation that will be necessary for you to enter into the Goshen Level of Anointing. When we spiritually speak of the stomach, the belly, we speak of the location of the spirit man.
The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

In this scripture you will see that in the Goshen anointing the health of your spirit man will be preserved.
This will affect every aspect of your life, both spiritually and naturally. But there is a process for this to take place and it is greatly depended on the condition of your heart.
27 The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord,
Searching all the inner depths of his heart.

In order to step into the Goshen, you will need to deal with your heart. Joseph told his brothers not to be angry with themselves for what they have done. He 1st dealt with their hearts and then send for them to come up to Egypt.
What does Goshen mean?
7 And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 8 So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

The word “Goshen” means :
- A place of comfort and plenty
- The prophetic meaning is, the land of preservation
How to step into Goshen anointing?
Praise and by the word of God
28 Then he sent Judah before him to Joseph, to point out before him the way to Goshen. And they came to the land of Goshen.

Now this is after that Israel received the message from his other sons that Joseph is still alive and so summoned for them to come to Egypt as there will be 5 more years of famine, further stating that if they do not come, they will be utterly destroyed.
However, if they go to Egypt then they with all that they have will be preserved, for God has send Joseph before them to make a way for them.
And so Jacob having spiritual perception, understood certain spiritual principles and so sent Judah before them to point the way to Goshen.
This makes no sense in the natural. From Israel’s 12 children he chose a very specific son to go before them and so to lead them into Goshen. Not Joseph, the one already living there, nor the eldest, but Judah.
What does the word Judah mean?
- The word Judah means praise.
- Praise is a secret weapon that was given to every believer, a weapon that if used correctly, will lead you into Goshen.
- Praise will lead you through the gates of Heaven and take you right into the courts of God. Meaning, praise will bring your circumstances into heaven, where you will not need to fight but instead you shall be preserved and your enemies will be put to shame.

14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

Understand that prophets have a special anointing to sign heavens decrees and when they speak they set those decrees into motion.
In the midst of their trouble and great distress, God established a prophet, and the moment he opened his mouth to deliver the Word of the Lord, the nation was preserved.
Right throughout scripture we find how God preserved Israel through his prophet’s.
13 By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt,
And by a prophet he was preserved.

God would continually reach out to Israel through His prophets, those who believed in his prophets were established and prospered.
What is prophecy?
- It is speaking the word of God.
When you believe in the words of a true prophet you believe and trust the word of God, because prophets is the mouth piece of God, that means whatever they speak is the word of God.
Israel understood this principle very well that is why Josephat said :
Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Goshen is a place that you have to be called into.
There are 3 preservations that take place when you move into the Goshen anointing
- Safety
26Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.
Exodus 9:25-26 (NKJV)
there was hail destroying everything in Egypt leaving the land of Goshen completely untouched, so, everything around Goshen was affected by the hail except for Goshen.
It does not matter what is going on in the world around you, when you have stepped into Goshen, you will not be touched, influenced or harmed.
2. Promotion
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
Psalm 75:6 (KJV)
Leaving promotion to come only from one place and that is the North. North is pointing to a spiritual geographical location that is Heaven. Meaning that promotion comes from God.
What is the meaning of promotion?
- It means that God is taking you from one level to another level, to another level, and so forth.
3. Multiplication
27 And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.
