“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27 (ESV)

So many Christians are gripped by fear — especially in these times which we are facing as the Church, all across the world. In fact, one of the greatest weapons of the enemy is fear. Through fear, the devil cripples believers and renders the power they carry against him ineffective. Instead of walking in faith, placing their confidence in God, they walk around with inner turmoil, anxiety, and worry. This is the furthest state of mind from what God intended for you.

Isaiah 9 says that He is our Prince of Peace. The Bible also says that the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, and peace. Therefore, peace in times of struggle is the evidence of God in you.

In the New Testament, we read how calm Jesus was when the storm threatened to overturn the ship that He and His disciples were in. It was in this place of peace that He rebuked the storm and commanded it to be still. It immediately obeyed! The peace of God quickly nullifies the opposition coming against you. When you are at peace, trouble departs. This is God’s promise for you!

Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” I want to encourage you today — it doesn’t matter what is going on around you or what fears you are facing in the season ahead — know that Jesus is in your boat. He will make sure you reach the other side.

Prophetic Declaration

Fear, anxiety, and worry, you have no hold on me! Right now, I command every spirit trying to bring fear to be struck with blindness. I will not be afraid. The peace of God reigning in me is the evidence of God in me. Despite what is going on in this nation, I choose to walk by faith. My confidence is in God.
