Your Direct Line To God
“So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding;” 1 Corinthians 14:15 (NIV)
Praying in tongues has to be one of the most powerful — and grossly underestimated — gift that God has given us. In the verse above, we see that praying in the spirit takes preeminence over praying in the understanding — that is, in your natural language. More than any other form of prayer, there is nothing more powerful than praying in tongues.
In verse 14, the verse prior to the one above, Paul said “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.” Paul fully grasped the degree of power available to those who would pray in tongues. He realised that praying in tongues was a direct communication line with God.
That’s why he said, “I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.” Paul realised that he had tapped into a source of limitless power. Praying in the spirit doesn’t only give you access to the mysteries of God, but it also opens up your spirit to be more in tune with Him — being able to hear and receive from Him.
If you do only one thing, I would encourage you to pray in the spirit like never before. Begin to make it a daily habit — whether it’s while you’re in your bedroom seeking God, while you’re in the shower or driving your car. But pray in tongues like never before! As you do, I guarantee that you will feel yourself being transformed from the inside out.
Prophetic Declaration
I have a direct communication line with God, and as I pray in tongues, everything begins to change! Nothing can intercept my prayers. I tap into the mysteries of God concerning my present and future and pray them into existence, in the Name of Jesus
