Renew Your Mind For An Uncontaminated Prophetic Flow
Unveiling The Power Of Your Thoughts
Maintaining an uncontaminated prophetic flow is of utmost importance. Yet, one often overlooked aspect of this flow is the state of our minds. When we become born again, our spirit is transformed into the image of God, but our minds remain in need of renewal, which is an ongoing process.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” — Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)
1.) Originating In The Mind Of God.
Before you took human form, you were a thought in the mind of God (Genesis 1). All creation starts with God’s thoughts and plans. This places a whole new dynamic on the role of the mind in the work of God in and through our lives.
2.) Old Covenant Access To The Mind Of Christ.
Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV) was directed at people in the Old Covenant who did not have the same level of access to God’s mind as we do today. In the New Covenant, we must recognize the profound difference between the two dispensations.
Until the New Covenant, not everyone had the privilege of having God dwell within them, enabling them to think and act like God. Instead, God conveyed His messages through the agency of the prophetic voice and external guidance. The requirement to follow the law to maintain a right standing with God. Therefore Isaiah’s message was directed at a people who were predominantly carnal and lacked the spiritual depth and access we possess as new covenant believers.
3.) The Renewed Mind Of The New Covenant.
In 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 (NKJV), the Apostle Paul conveys a message that holds true for us today, particularly in the context of our born-again spirits. While we are not striving to be legalistic, it’s essential to recognize that our access to the mind of God is a significant benefit of our new covenant relationship.
We understand that our salvation comes through the precious blood of the Lamb and not by our own works. As Paul explains, the natural self, or the mindset of the unregenerated person, cannot grasp the profound truths and wisdom of God. However, the remarkable revelation is that, as born-again believers, we have been granted the mind of Christ. This means we can think in alignment with God’s divine perspective on things, as we are indwelt by His Spirit, enabling us to comprehend and apply His wisdom and guidance in our lives.
4.) The Significance of Renewing Your Mind.
Prophetic Technology
One aspect of prophetic administration involves capturing and releasing the mind of God. When we prophesy, we declare what God thinks about various matters, providing a perspective shift. When we want to start flowing in the prophetic we often focus on the role of our spiritual receptivity to God’s guidance. It’s common to neglect the significance of our minds in this process. Yet, it’s important to remember the wisdom of Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) — “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Our thoughts and mindset play a crucial part in how we perceive and convey God’s messages in the prophetic administration.
Releasing God’s Methodology
As prophetic people, we release God’s perspective and wisdom to the world. This involves inviting others into the genius and brilliance of God’s library, speaking the things God has ordained for people and places.
Physical Senses versus Spiritual Senses
We must recognize that our spiritual senses are as vital as our physical ones. Just as we have physical senses to perceive the natural world, we possess spiritual senses to discern the spiritual realm. We don’t always need to receive a Word or a dream to know something is amis, we often hear people say they “sensed” that something was off. The Bible emphasizes the significance of these senses. In Luke 8:43-48 (NKJV), the story of the woman with the issue of blood demonstrates the power of spiritual sensitivity. She touched Jesus, and He felt power leave Him. This is a perfect example of the sense of touch and the connection between our spiritual senses and the supernatural world.
Guarding The Gateway
The importance of addressing the state of our minds cannot be emphasized enough. It is our minds that the enemy uses to sow seeds of deception, a powerful yet subtle influence. The truth is, the mind of the natural man is incapable of comprehending the spiritual truths and insights that originate from God. As 1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) aptly states, the natural man does not receive or discern the things of the Spirit of God because they require spiritual discernment.
This points to the need for us to actively engage in renewing our minds, aligning our thought patterns with God’s truth, and guarding against subtle deceptions that can impede our spiritual understanding.
The Power of Belief Systems
Your life tends to move in the direction of your dominant thoughts, which are shaped by your belief systems. It’s essential to dismantle toxic mindsets to experience the fullness of God’s blessing.
Our minds serve as filters in the prophetic process, much like when oranges are being juiced, it is poured through a filter to ensure purity. Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) reminds us that our thoughts shape our reality, and an impure mindset can contaminate the revelation we receive from God. Therefore, it is of utmost importance for prophets to address their mindset, align it with Godly principles, and eliminate toxic thinking. This ensures the purity of their prophetic declarations and the effectiveness of their ministry in God’s kingdom.
5.) Strongholds – The Battle Within.
The enigma of why some individuals can experience God in an anointed service and others don’t can be traced to the presence of strongholds in their minds. These strongholds, whether positive or negative, represent fortified belief systems. In a negative sense, a person’s mind may be dominated by a negative belief that healing is not for them. As a consequence, even in the presence of the powerful flow of God’s healing anointing, their deeply ingrained beliefs act as barriers preventing them from receiving the manifestation of God’s healing power.
Strongholds are profound and persistent, and they can be inhabited not only by negative thoughts but also by demonic entities. In the context of deliverance, casting out a demon is only the first step in the right direction but the mindset that has been shaped and reinforced by the demon’s influence remains. Therefore, addressing and dismantling these strongholds is essential, and it requires a renewal of the mind in accordance with God’s truth and promises.
6.) The Role of Teaching In Breaking Strongholds.
When preaching in an area, if people are bound by the mindset influenced by a ruling territorial spirit, it can hinder the transformation of that territory. Which in this case, is the territory of the mind. So there’s a warfare element that demands a shift in mindset.
To effectively impact the territory, we must first work on shifting the mindset of the person or people. A positive stronghold, such as a firm belief in healing and deliverance, empowers individuals to embrace God’s promises. In contrast, negative strongholds are rooted in demonic mindsets, obstructing spiritual growth. Although prophets expose hidden demons, true deliverance goes beyond mere expulsion. The process involves the ministry of teaching to systematically dismantle these strongholds, much like the prophetic call to “root out, pull down, tear down, rebuild, and replant” as God instructed Jeremiah. This multifaceted approach recognizes that deliverance extends to the realm of the mind and thought patterns.
7.) Teaching As A Form Of Warfare.
Our belief in Jesus as the Healer as outlined in Luke 4:18 (NKJV) is firmly grounded. However, it’s critical to understand that the journey of healing is a systematic process. The teaching of revelation plays a pivotal role in this process, systematically dismantling the lies that have taken root in the minds of believers and replacing them with the enduring truth of God’s Word. The truth, as revealed in Scripture, acts as a powerful antidote to the falsehoods that can afflict our minds, enabling us to experience the transformative healing that Jesus offers.
8.) Cultivating The Garden Of The Mind.
It’s essential to take responsibility for our own healing journey and believe that it’s possible to overcome strongholds that hinder our progress. In the book of Philippians, Paul emphasizes the importance of intentional purity of thought. He urges us to focus our minds on what is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.
This counsel found in Philippians 4:8 (NKJV), underscores the responsibility we hold for our own minds. Our minds are like gardens that require intentional tending, and by deliberately placing our thoughts in the parking place of what is pure, honest, and true we participate in the ongoing process of renewing our minds and aligning them with the divine wisdom and values of the scriptures we ought to follow.
